This waa my second to last set of Dumbbell presses. Today I started with high reps 20-25 for my first 2 sets increasing weight every set.  I remembered when I first started lifting 3-4 years ago  I started with 5's 10's and 15's.  And now Im at 25, 30,35 and 40's. For today's dips, we want to put more emphasis on the chest so we need to: 1. Get a wider grip 2. Retract the scapula and then let the elbows flare outside while going down 3. Control the movement while lowering ourselves and then go up a little faster without locking our elbows 4. For even more chest activation we need to lean forward a bit 5. Inhale while we descend, then push ourselves up and exhale at the top of the movement . The same principles apply for the dip machine. After not eating all day I decided to fill up with one of my favorite #cheatmeals pizza!! Second clip is showing some bench press from today's lift. Focusing a lot on form and slowly increasing the weight. This was 200 for 4 solid reps (body weight is still hovering around 150lbs). ********************* Always remember this order when it comes to lifting: Form, speed, weight. That's the order of importance when lifting. We're all guilty (at least I was for a long time) of adding a little too much weight sometimes and sacrificing form for ego. Don't do it. Bulking/Gains/Improvement/Off season in full effect.. Haven't done anything over 80lbs for DB Incline Presses but felt good to get under some weight.. I could have got more then 5 reps but decided not to push it since I started from the 75lbs Db and worked my way up(6 sets). Getting back to the morning workout is tough after missing the gym for a week, felt great though to get a good chest workout in after some much needed time off from the gym, back to the basics with this chest workout, flat bench, then incline and decline on the smith machine followed by some accessory movements to finish out the workout. 💪😝

Para muchas personas el descanso activo consiste en entrenar otro grupo muscular diferente del trabajado el día anterior, es decir, si trabajamos piernas, al día siguiente trabajaremos pecho - Para muchas personas esto es descansar, pero la realidad es que no es así, ya que la intensidad del entrenamiento es la misma. Una de las principales máximas del descanso activo es disminuir la intensidad.  Para realizar un descanso activo en condiciones lo ideal es cambiar de actividad y, como decíamos anteriormente, disminuir la intensidad del ejercicio. Por ejemplo, salir a caminar a paso ligero en vez de practicar carrera es una buena manera de practicar descanso activamente - Lo mismo podemos hacer con la bicicleta, es decir, dar un paseo tranquilamente sin buscar marcas ni nada por el estilo. Lo que debemos perseguir es mantenernos activos sin más.  El descanso activo mantendrá nuestro riego sanguíneo acelerado, mejorando así la recuperación muscular. Además, con un descanso activo lograremos eliminar toxinas acumuladas por el estrés sufrido cuando realizamos ejercicio. De este modo, al recuperar el estado habitual de los músculos lograremos lograr que éstos rindan más y mejor al volver a entrenar de manera habitual.  Por ello es muy importante que el descanso activo entre dentro de nuestros planes de entrenamiento. Quiet frankly we were both pretty upset with how many reps we got lol... the effects of only having two meals in pre workout and not taking a proper rest day. But hey everyone has shitty days right!?
