C h i a j a m ✧ I'm always looking for easy, healthy and yummy ways to cover my toasts or bread. This is one of them 🙌 I added a layer of natural soy yoghurt and finished off with almond flakes, sunflower seeds and dried rose petals 🍓 __ Method: wash 100g raspberries or other red fruit, mash with a fork, add 1 tbsp of chiaseeds and 1 tbsp of water. Leave to soak overnight in the fridge aaand it's done! Saves up to 4 days in the fridge. 🍞 Note: I was able to cover about 7 toasts with this amount. Mixed Berry Chia Jam •1/2 Bag of frozen mixed berries •1 cup water (or enough to just cover berries in a small sauce pan) •Zest of 1 lemon •3 tbs cane sugar (or more to taste) •3 tbs chia seeds  Combine berries, water, lemon zest, and sugar in small sauce pan and simmer on low heat for 8-10 minutes. Take off heat and mash berries (or for a smoother consistency, pulse in blender for a few seconds.) Allow to cool down, add chia seeds and stir until combined. Let sit for 5 minutes. Refrigerate when not using. Enjoy. #chiajam

I used @waitrose organic frozen raspberries. •1 to 2 tablespoons of sweetener of your choice, honey, sukrin, date syrup, agave, maple syrup, add more if you like it sweeter, I used @totalsweetxylitol •1 tablespoon of chia seeds, add more if required, I used @sevenhillswholefoods organic white chia seeds . .  You can double this recipe if you wish to make more. Our family weekend breakfast treat is often pancakes. But how can they be a healthy option? I make mine more nourishing by using a mixture of buckwheat, gluten free and coconut flours but you could use whole-wheat. You can also use alternative milks such as coconut or almond or regular milk. Pancakes can be topped with fruit, natural yoghurt, nut butter or honey. Here I’ve made a ‘jam’ by cooking some frozen blueberries and blackberries with some chia seeds, a splash of water and a drizzle of honey. But the main reason I’m prepared to make pancakes is to get my children to eat eggs. Many children don’t enjoy boiled, poached or scrambled eggs. But pancakes...yes! Eggs are a fantastic source of nutrients. They are a great source of protein and also contain numerous essential vitamins and minerals including vitamins A, D, the B complex, calcium, iron and phosphorous (for healthy bones). Eggs also contain choline, which is very important for liver function, metabolism, muscle movement and brain health. For vegans, crêpe style galette can be made without eggs and topped with nut butter, fruit and coconut yoghurt.

I've got a pot of this super easy Strawberry Chia jam bubbling away on the stove as I type this and it smells amazing! ⠀ ⠀ I LOVE all types of berries, and as they are not in season right now I get my fixed from frozen strawberries and blueberries (always make sure they are organic). One of my favorite ways to use them is in Chia Jam. ⠀ ⠀ Simply throw 3 cups of any frozen berries into a large pan with the zest and juice of one lime an 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence. Add in 1/4 cup chia seed, cover and place on a very low heat. ⠀ ⠀ You want the berries to release their juice before turning up the heat, so after about 5 minutes turn the heat up until it bubbles for a couple of minutes, then turn back down to a low simmer. Leave for about another 10 minutes, or until the strawberries break down (I like mine a little lumpy). Leave to cool, then transfer to an airtight container. ⠀ ⠀ I use these in layered smoothies, on top of yogurt, or as a topping for Overnight Oats. Or with a spoon straight out of the jar...⠀ ⠀ #chiajam #sundaybreakfast #yum

Λύση: παίρνεις κατεψυγμένα φρούτα τα δάσους της @alterra_sa (που στη σακούλα τους γράφουν "Smoothies", και το βρίσκω εξαιρετική ιδέα, παρεμπιπτόντως), τα αφήνεις λιγάκι να ξεπαγώσουν, τα λιώνεις λίγο με ένα πιρούνι (όσο θες εσύ), βάζεις λίγο μέλι, (αν θέλεις) και λάιμ (για να γίνει όσο ξινούτσικο θες), σπόρους τσία (μη με ρωτήσεις πόσους, γιατί θα σου πω με το μάτι και δεν θα σου αρέσει-ξεκίνα με λίγους, και μπορείς πάντα να βάλεις λίγο περισσότερους μετά), γενικώς βλέπεις πόση ελευθερία σου αφήνω (όσο θες, και άμα θες), ανακατεύεις, και το αφήνεις στην άκρη να κάνει τη δουλίτσα του το πράμα. 🍇 How can you get to enjoy the taste and nutrition from berries - all year round? 🍇 By eating them from frozen or powdered form are 2 great ways 👍😀 🍇 That's why I've always been a huge fan of @arcticberries fruit powders. They make my favourite sugar free chia jam in a matter of 10 minutes - how good is that! 🍇 Simply place 2x cups chia seeds in a container (plus lid). Add 3-4x cups water, 2x heaped tbsp your favourite @arcticberries fruit powder plus a handful of your favourite frozen berries. (Add a little sweetness if preferred to your liking - pure Maple syrup or xylitol for example) Leave for 10 mins or more (you can leave overnight if you need to). 🍇 How can you get to enjoy the taste and nutrition from berries - all year round? 🍇 By eating them from frozen or powdered form are 2 great ways 👍😀 🍇 That's why I've always been a huge fan of @arcticberries fruit powders. They make my favourite sugar free chia jam in a matter of 10 minutes - how good is that! 🍇 Simply place 2x cups chia seeds in a container (plus lid). Add 3-4x cups water, 2x heaped tbsp your favourite @arcticberries fruit powder plus a handful of your favourite frozen berries. (Add a little sweetness if preferred to your liking - pure Maple syrup or xylitol for example) Leave for 10 mins or more (you can leave overnight if you need to). I didn't have plant milk at home so today my porridge was made with water and coconutwater.
