Louise wanted to take part in the challenge after taking a layoff from the gym after having her second child 5-6 months ago , the goal was to lose some body fat.  We came up with a training plan for 4 weight training days and if she couldn't manage the gym I would give her some Kettlebell workouts to do in the house. With some added cardio starting from week 2 in the challenge. I upped my #deadlifts to 47.5kg for 2 out of 4 sets of 12 from the 45kg I was at. Cut out triangles. Sprayed with non stick spray and seasoned. I made the goal of getting into my jeans 👖 and that I wanted to really make a difference for people with Herbalife 🌿 - helping 5 clients this month get some before/after photos they can be really proud of... and it was like life came up to me, knocked me down and said, "oh really? Just how serious are you?!" Between Becca's leg breaking, JP's shoulder surgery, both girls with ear infections and not being able to work out, I defaulted to my first coping mechanism... comfort food. And stopping all the good I was doing to mentally check out with TV & online games. 😣  But, okay, life. I see the lesson - I see the test you were offering me. But I've got my people behind me now (shout out to Ashley Munoz & Emily Wilson), and I'm a little wiser for the wear... and I'm coming back with a vengeance!! Because I can!!! A picture from yesterdays. The training was very hard but very good! Did a quick warm up, and then did a workout i love, DT! So 5x 12 reps of deadlift, 9 reps of cleans, and 6 reps of push press! After that a really high pulse workout where i picked out 5 different exercises with 30 reps in this case swings, push-up, squats, kettlebell clean push press, and then the plank for as long as you can. Despite what you may think, the most common failure for weight loss isn't junk food, not going to the gym enough, or alcohol. _ It's actually something more simple than that. _ The misreporting of your actual overall calorie intake. _ But does that mean that you're lying? _ Not at all. _ But what may be happening is there are either calories slipping through the cracks that you forgot about –such as the biscuit you had while you were busy working, or, you may have underestimated how many calories a certain food or drink actually was. _ A perfect example is the standard cup of latte which can be as high as 190 calories.  This can add up very quick. _ ----- _ The fact is, it also doesn't mean that you're terrible at calculating or assessing calorie intake.  Dietitians fail at this too. _ You see, researchers from the Pennington Biomedical Research Center performed a study comparing the accuracy of self-reporting of dietitians to non-dietitians. _ In the study. Despite what you may think, the most common failure for weight loss isn't junk food, not going to the gym enough, or alcohol. _ It's actually something more simple than that. _ The misreporting of your actual overall calorie intake. _ But does that mean that you're lying? _ Not at all. _ But what may be happening is there are either calories slipping through the cracks that you forgot about –such as the biscuit you had while you were busy working, or, you may have underestimated how many calories a certain food or drink actually was. _ A perfect example is the standard cup of latte which can be as high as 190 calories. This can add up very quick. _ ----- _ The fact is, it also doesn't mean that you're terrible at calculating or assessing calorie intake. Dietitians fail at this too. _ You see, researchers from the Pennington Biomedical Research Center performed a study comparing the accuracy of self-reporting of dietitians to non-dietitians. _ In the study. One of my favorite ways to start a workout that's going to have a lot of pressing movements. I find these really warm up and strengthen my rotator cuffs. If you have shoulder pain while pressing, give these a try to start your workouts. I like to set the machine slightly below my face so I'm pulling up a bit. The trick is to not just pull back with your traps, but to rotate your arms up.
