Little bit of damage control today: Finally got back into the gym after the back strain, hit a little push session. Woke up +200lbs for the first time since 2004 😱 Bulk is a bit out of hand so tightening up this week to get things back under control: was most appreciative of the chest pump from the extra kcals though 💪😁 baby chest is growing.

#2016bestnine deadlifting, cocktails, bulking and time with the miss 😁 I know this was a weird year overall but for me personally it was one of my best yet 🙌 Tweaked my lower back on Thursday so no training for the past few days. If there's one thing I've been able to absorb this year it's that this whole bodybuilding thing is a marathon not a sprint and staying healthy and injury free are much more important than pushing through pain/injuries or compromising form on days where I'm just not feeling it. Still making that mental shift away from chasing numbers in the weight room and letting the progress come to me. Lots to learn still but grateful for positive influences and the little fitness community I've become a part of 💪😁🤙 Happy New Year to you and yours 🍾🍾🍾

That post-Christmas festivity pump though 😏💪🏼 Ate pretty much everything and anything I wanted the last couple days, because that's what I wanted to do. I'm not stressing about it at all though. Cookies, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cheese, cake, wine... everything lol. Surprisingly I woke up today only 1-2lbs above my normal weight (which is probably mostly water anyways) and had the most AMAZZZZZING workout. I was training back but my shoulders kinda stole the show. So I trained them a bit too. Best pump I've ever had 😝 #ThiseCarbsThough#MyBodyLovedIt#GAINSmas
147.5 lbs for sets of 8 tonight 🎅🏼 Merry #Gainsmas to me. I attribute today's killer workout to sitting on my butt and eating junk food ALL day yesterday 💪🏼 All set up to be hitting 175 for doubles this training cycle #AllPurpleEverything
