• CHIN UPS • Chin-ups are one of the hardest, yet most rewarding exercises you can do in the gym. They'll work your back, shoulders, arms and abdominals like no other exercise. I can remember the first time I did one & it's one of the best feelings! If you can't do them yet, what should you do? Start trying! You see lots of women (& guys!) that are strong at squats & deadlifts but can't do a chin up, because they never devote any time to them. Here's a couple of tips to help improve your Chin-ups: • Pull Downs - Use these to focus on firing your lats which play a big part the the chin-up. • Eccentric only Chin-ups - Your body is a lot stronger eccentrically. Practice holding yourself at the top of the bar & lowering yourself slowly for 5-10 seconds • Ask someone to spot you - As you get better you may be a lot closer than you think & just need a little help to get over your sticking point.

What I like to call 'starvation' (fasted) cardio 45 minutes on the stepper - AkA Steph Sue Trust me 45 minutes varying between a level 10-14 you will look like you have been caught in a monsoon 💦😜 Followed by 15 minutes power walking on the Curve treadmill. Zo, ook hallo, druilerige dinsdag 😛 Ik denk dat ik geen woord teveel zeg als ik stel dat de weersomstandigheden niet bijster lekker meewerken vandaag 🌚 Niet dat we daar iets aan kunnen veranderen, maar we kunnen er wel wat mee doen. Hoe? Well, let me explain 🤓 Want denk eens even aan de laatste, meest toffe persoon die je hebt mogen ontmoeten. Er was íets aan zijn of haar vibe dat je opgevallen is en dat tot en met nu goed is blijven plakken. Wat maakte deze eerste indruk zo speciaal? Wat straalde er uit de persoonlijkheid van degene die tegenover je stond?😏 Dat stukje, dat kleine element dat je nu hopelijk te binnen schiet.. draag dat vandaag bij je. En zorg dat het van onder je paraplu, natte krant of capuchon naar iemand anders straalt. Lach even een keer onnodig breed door die regendruppels heen, be the happiest kid in a room full of Gargamels 🌝 Als het de dag van één ander al beter kan maken, dan is dat toch mega nice? Precies. First session of the day in the bag and it's all about the layers!! Freezing again this morning so I start with four layers 😂🙌🏻. Legs were really feeling it this morning after last nights session, it was a lighter weight higher rep session and my quads and hamstrings were on 🔥. Got a great glute pump too 🍑. Now for a busy day at work then off to have a session with coach later. Potentially some protein pancakes 🥞 on the go today, being shrove Tuesday and all that😋.

Woke up with a lot of energy yesterday so thougut I'd give #crossfitopen 17.1 a try. Yes I scaled it to use a 10kg dumbbell as I wasn't feeling very strong but that's what I love about #crossfit - you can mould it to suit your capabilities! Finished it in 13.27 and jeez it was tough!! Will try the 15kg when I stop aching 🤦🏼♀️😵
You guys revive me. My clients are my family and the best of friends. I'm so thankful for you. Years ago in high school I didn't have a lot of friends. I was a loner. I'm not afraid to say it. I didn't care to have friends and go to parties. At 16 I started working full time and now 10 years later I've continued doing that. Still yet I'm very selective with the people I keep near but my clients are so amazing. They are always there to give me a laugh to be there with me and they are always a phone call away or a dinner away if I need a friend. I'm thankful to be their ears when they need me and I'm thankful that because we see each other so often they're always there for me. I've had this family for 6 years. Some things have been gained, something's lost. No matter what you guys are always there and always there to make me smile. 💕 My 18 year old 👏🏻 so special to me, because I see so much in her that i saw in me. Wearing the right shoes while training is so important! It helps with preventing common injuries related to the sport you're playing. For #CrossFit , it's so important to have a shoe that can handle repeated aggressive movements, provides structural support for the lifts, and is flexible enough to still be used for running short distances in a workout. How's that for a #transformationtuesday 😐 • There is more than a 20kg difference between these two photos. But the changes on the inside and mentally are far greater than any measurable amount. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ • At the lowest point of my eating disorder I was 40kgs. I lived off coffee and alcohol most of the time and just partied a ridiculous amount. The photo on the left is of a girl that hated herself, that thought all her worth was based on how she looked. I once used and abused my body, thinking it was 'normal' to constantly fight it into submission. The real change happens when you realise it's not the enemy, it's a part of you. Worthy of the highest love and nourishment. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ • This isn't a 'before' and 'after'. This is a 'past' and a 'present', I am still constantly working on my strength and physique goals. The photo on the left was someone I use to be, the photo on the right is where I'm at currently, but I'm not just stopping there.
