Corrective exercise is a challenging topic and many people are intimidated by it because it can seem difficult and impractical to implement. In this week's blog post, I discuss a realistic approach to corrective strategies. Link is in bio. #maximummovement
4 weeks after surgery, here are some pics of how the leg is looking now. Pic 1- happy with how my scar is looking Pic 2- bruising has started to come out on my lower leg/ankle. After surgery I had hardly any bruising, 4 weeks later it has started to come out 🤔 my ankle is still numb and I have no feeling in it. Pic 3- the bruise started looking like this, it gradually got bigger over the last 2 weeks

A few weeks ago I set out to correct slight knee valgus in my right knee. I discovered this when I recorded myself doing drops jumps to single leg landing. The photo to on the left is he old photo and you can see my knee collapsing in and my hips are uneven. The photo on the right was taken today. You can see my knee is tracking to the outside and my hips are even. Like I said, I'm not a doctor or a PT. I focused more on strengthening my hamstrings and glutes. There any many reasons for knee valgus but this worked in correcting mine.
One last shot from our patellar instability case today where we reconstructed the MPFL ligament. View it over on Snapchat at bfgorthodocaz. Here we are putting the graft onto the femur (leg bone). The large white and gray object above the knee is a C-Arm. The C-Arm is a form of XRay that allows us to have live imaging right in the OR. This form of X-ray is know As Fluoro (Fluoroscopy). #patellartendon#MPFL#kneesurgery#orthopedics#orthopedicsurgery#patellardislocation#sportsmedicine
🇩🇪 Tag 55 postoperativ. Werde dann also mal abwarten, was der Freitag bei der Physio bringt 🙈 🇺🇸🇬🇧 Day 55 post-op. Technically I would have had pt today 👀 Technically.. But sadly we drove on the autobahn this morning and 2 accidents had happened. The first jam took us 45 minutes so we called the doctor's office to cancel the appointment 😞 Shortly after that jam was the next jam with 1 1/2 hours delay 🙈 I hope that I'm allowed to make up for that appointment cause nobody could have seen that coming 😕 But instead pt I went to breakfast with my mom in our town 😄 Slowly my left scar starts to get lighter 🎉 I got the plate from the osteotomy removed in february (I put it in a jar on my shelf 😏). So I have to wait till friday to see how things will go with pt 🙈 #Krankenhaus#hospital#Medikamente#meds#knieop#knieoperation#kneesurgery#Narben#scars#stitches#osteotomie#osteotomy#mpflplastik#mpflrekonstruktion#mpfl#mpflreconstruction#krücken#crutches#splint#schiene#orthese#pt#physio#arthroskopie#arthroscopy#Krankengymnastik
She did so stellar at physical therapy with me today. Joint issues suck but doing it with someone I adore makes it better. The staff was patient, funny and super accommodating in getting get to do her therapy. Great day 2 Sidney
It's been a week since my surgery even though it seems way longer I can't believe I've still got 6 more weeks (because my mom was working and not able to take me to my original appointment!) until hopefully I can walk without the brace locked 😩 back at my house now my mom has gone back to work I'm going to miss her waiting on me hand and foot 😏 but I've got nurse @_ted.the.lab_ helping out (its all fun and games until he genuinely hurts me 😐) and went on a nice walk today in the sun on the mobility scooter it was nice to get out for a bit as I've been inside all week apart from going to and from the car! The bruising on my leg is getting worse and oh it's so sore! The brace rubs on it it's not nice at all I feel like it's getting more painful when it should be getting less! First physio appointment on 1st 👍 #tibialtubercleosteotomy#tibialtubercletransfer#mpflreconstruction#orthopedicsurgery#kneesurgery#recovery#surgeryrecovery#physiotherapy
Super simple to make. And super delicious to eat! . Two days in to this new nutrition plan and I am starting to feel SO much better! I can feel my energy starting to come back also. . It was tough the first couple of days after surgery because I was too nauseous to eat which gave me zero energies plus taking pain medicine which made me even more tired so all I wanted to do was sleep. I am still taking the pain meds but I feel like a completely different person just by eating again and eating well! Which made me think of something that I saw a friend share the other day...it said this... . "Every 35 days, your skin replaces itself. Your liver, about a month. Your body makes these new cells from the foods that you eat. What you eat literally becomes you. You have a choice in what you're made of. #eatwisely "
